The Meteorite Mailing List

Meteorite Central has provided a meteorite mailing list for the purpose of providing a fast and efficient method to relay pertinant information regarding meteorites. The list is un-moderated ... meaning all email messages posted will go to all members almost instantly! While this is very beneficial, it means that the posts go to the list ~without proofing~ ; so the posts need to be related to meteorites and need to follow the policies listed below.

General List Policies (i.e. The Rules)

1. Posts need to relate in some way to meteorites.
2. Be courteous and professional at all times.
3. No Personal Attacks.
4. Please include the subject of the post in the email's 'Subject' line.
5. Send emails in text format, not HTML or Rich Text (these will be bounced).
6. Do not send emails with file attachments to the list; include a file link.
7. Make sure you can back up statements with facts and references.
8. Do not post messages for someone else to the List.
9. Do not post "Test" emails to the list, if you need to test just wait until you have a real post to submit.
10. If you are posting a URL for a sale, include 'SALE' or 'AD' in the Subject line.
11. Bandito the neighborhood Wind Scorpion says 1 Ad per Week!

Upon subscribing you will be automatically emailed a one page guide on the use of the List, and how to perform certain list functions, such as getting help and un-subscribing. If you have any specific questions, feel free to send me an email as well.
