Possible Fall in Bali?

Mike posted a message on the list this morning regarding a possible new fall in Bali.  A news article stated that ... "The fall, which occurred at around 1:00 a.m. (local time) Wednesday, January 2, 2008, was accompanied by flashes of light and loud explosions when it landed in the fields of Nyoman Miasa."

Mike Farmer has just posted a few pages on his site highlighting his recent trip to Peru to investigate the September fall. This fall is turning out to be a major event and the story surrounding Mike's trip is packed with excitement and his new pages have some very interesting pictures of the crater, surrounding area, and smoke trail.

Meteorite illness in Peru?

There's been much press recenty regarding the supposed meteorite fall in Peru that has been related to reports of illness. Martin from the List just reported the following from a German meteorite forum member who has visited the site. Martin relayed:

"La Mancha" Spain, Fell May 10, 2007 at ~8:00 PM. (Achondrite, Eucrite, brecciated) - Total known weight ~380 grams. Here's Mike Farmer's new report on his recent trip to recover some of this achondrite.

Cali - First Columbian Meteorite

Mike Farmer and Robert Ward recently returned from Cali, Columbia where they recovered ~400 grams of this new fall, witnessed on July 6th, 2007. Despite a dangerous and challenging fall area, the two meteorite hunters recovered over 400 grams of the meteorite, as well as several pieces of roof that were penetrated!
