The world's most expensive mailbox?

The famous Claxton mailbox will be auctioned today in the latest Macovich auction. The mailbox, which was damaged by a meteorite in 1984, could possibly fetch up to $80,000. Not bad when you consider a new mailbox sells for under $8 at the local general store in Claxton, Georgia, where the meteorite fell. Here is a link to a interesting article (thanks Paul H).
